Mitsubishi Aims to Strengthen Relationship with Dealers to Boost Sales and Expand Market in Thailand

During a meeting with dealers, Mr. Takao Kato, the President of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, expressed his desire for the company to work closely with its dealers to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the company and its partners in achieving success in the Thai market.

In addition, Mr. Kato revealed that Mitsubishi plans to make Thailand its main market, with the company’s factory in Thailand manufacturing electric vehicles to be exported to other Southeast Asian countries. He believes that the region holds immense potential and plans to develop many new models specifically tailored to meet the needs of the Southeast Asian market.

As part of this strategy, Mitsubishi recently unveiled its latest concept car, the XRT, at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2023. The XRT is a pre-production version of the 6th generation Triton pickup truck and boasts a muscular, rugged design. It is expected that the new Triton will have an off-road version to rival the Ford Ranger Raptor.

While the company has not yet released the official specifications for the Triton 2024 and the XRT concept, some sources suggest that the new Triton will be equipped with a diesel engine with code 4N16 with 4 cylinders, DOHC, 16 valves, turbocharged, and a capacity of 2.4L. Mitsubishi also plans to add an all-electric variant of the Triton in the future.

In addition to the Triton, Mitsubishi also plans to launch a pure electric pickup truck, the Pajero Sport, which shares the same chassis as the Triton. The Pajero Sport is expected to be released sometime between 2025 and 2028. With the introduction of these new models, the pickup truck segment is set to become even more exciting and competitive with the presence of formidable opponents.

Overall, Mitsubishi’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with its dealers, developing new models tailored for the Southeast Asian market, and expanding its lineup of electric vehicles signals a bright future for the company in the region. The Triton 2024 and the XRT concept have generated a great deal of excitement at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2023, and consumers are eagerly anticipating the release of these new models.
