Detail The 1968 Dodge Charger captured Dom’s heart in ‘Fast & Furious’.

Dominic Toretto’s 1968 Dodge Charger is a wide-body version with a capacity of more than 800 horsepower.
Associated with the blockbuster Fast & Furious series, Dodge Charger is always driven by the main character Dominic Toretto with dramatic action scenes.

In part 9 of Fast & Furious, Dominic Toretto continues to use the 1968 Charger. However, this version has been given a wide body and powerful performance upgrades.

As many as nine 1968 Dodge Chargers were built specifically for the film. In particular, 2 out of 9 are equipped with a V8 HEMI Hellcat engine in the middle.

The remaining 7 were equipped with V8 LS3 engines used in stunt scenes. The process of building these cars took up to 4.5 months.

The V8 HEMI engine is taken from the Charger Hellcat model with a standard capacity of 707 horsepower. Tuner Performance Tech has increased the power to more than 800 horsepower with 110 octane gasoline.

Comes with this engine is a 6-speed manual gearbox Graziano, taken from the Lamborghini Gallardo supercar.
Other valuable upgrades on the car include a custom-made chassis and wide-body bodykit made from SpeedKore Performance carbon fiber, Magnaflow exhaust system.

The wheelbase is extended by 150 mm. This version uses sports wheels from HRE and high-end Brembo brakes.

The cockpit of the car is classic. Indispensable on the cars driven by the character Dom Toretto is the NOS tank.

The plexiglass and metal visor protect the driver from heat and engine noise. This detail is inspired by the Ford GT40 racing car.

Behind the custom cars in the Fast & Furious series is Dennis McCarthy, vehicle image coordinator at Universal Studios.
The team of 7 people at McCarthy’s Vehicle Effects department had to work on this project continuously for 4.5 months with an intensity of 14 to 15 hours/day.

Two Chargers with more than 800 horsepower had to do many parallel scenes in Glasgow, Scotland and Tbilisi, Georgia. The good news is that after the harsh scenes, both cars are in near-perfect condition.
