Following the footsteps of the Wannabe McLaren F1, an intriguing name was chosen.

The 2019 McLaren Speedtail is a high-performance supercar that boasts a powerful 4.0-liter V8 engine and Formula E-derived hybrid technology, delivering an impressive 1,055 horsepower and a top speed of 250 mph. While it may not be a direct successor to the legendary F1, it is currently the fastest car ever built by the UK company. However, its design has been a subject of criticism, with many enthusiasts feeling that it’s not as aesthetically pleasing as some of McLaren’s previous models.

Enter Marc Senan, a professional automotive designer who has worked on several Lamborghini models, including the Huracan, Urus Concept, Veneno, and Aventador SVJ. Senan took it upon himself to design his own McLaren flagship supercar, which he named after the company’s founder, Bruce McLaren. The Bruce is a design study that pays homage to the F1, and Senan has taken inspiration from several McLaren models to create a unique and stunning supercar.

The Bruce features vertical doors with lower glass pieces, similar to those found on the Senna, as well as thin LED headlights that look different from any other McLaren model. The split rear window design and roof-mounted vent are clearly inspired by the F1, and the center-seat layout with space for two passengers and a driver is reminiscent of the original F1 and the Speedtail.

While Senan has not specified the powerplant that would sit mid-ship in the Bruce, it’s safe to say that a V12 engine would befit the spirit of the F1. It’s important to note that the Bruce is only a design study and has no connection with McLaren. However, many enthusiasts wouldn’t mind seeing this stunning supercar reach production.

In conclusion, the Bruce is a beautifully designed supercar that pays tribute to McLaren’s rich history while incorporating modern features and design elements. While it may not be an official McLaren model, it’s clear that Senan has put a lot of thought and effort into creating a unique and stunning supercar that captures the spirit of the F1. Hopefully, we’ll see more from Senan in the future, and who knows, maybe one day the Bruce will become a reality.
