Stand Out From The Crowd And Own The One And Only Bmw X7 Pickup Edition – The World’s Only One!

In July 2019, BMW unveiled a new concept vehicle, the X7 pickup truck, at their BMW Welt museum in Munich. While the vehicle will not be produced for commercial sale, it has garnered a lot of attention from car enthusiasts.

The X7 pickup truck is based on the larger X7 SUV model, with a larger cabin than most mid-size pickup trucks, but a much shorter bed. In fact, in the press photos, a BMW F850 GS motorcycle is shown on the bed of the truck, but it takes up almost half of the available space, and the tailgate needs to be lowered to fit the entire motorcycle. If BMW were to produce a commercial pickup truck, they would need to design a larger bed to be competitive in the market.

The X7 pickup truck was designed by a group of interns in BMW’s technology, concept, and model-making department. The design process took about 10 months and utilized carbon-fiber reinforced materials, resulting in a truck that is 200kg lighter than the SUV version but 10cm longer.

BMW’s foray into the pickup truck market is not unique. Mercedes-Benz also attempted to enter the segment with their X-Class model, but ultimately scrapped the project due to various reasons.

While the X7 pickup truck is not intended for commercial production, it showcases BMW’s ability to innovate and experiment with new vehicle concepts. It remains to be seen if BMW will enter the pickup truck market in the future, but for now, car enthusiasts can admire the X7 pickup truck as a unique and impressive concept vehicle.
