Dwayne Johnson nicknamed “The Rock” is atoning for his past mistakes.
The Black Adam action star over the weekend shared a video on social media recording a recent visit to a 7-Eleven store in Hawaii (USA), where Dwayne Johnson bought all of the store’s Snickers candy bars. and let customers get it for free.
Not only was it a generous move, but Dwayne Johnson (50 years old) did it as an act of atonement.
The Oahu, Hawaii native explained that 36 years ago – when he was just 14 years old – he used to go to the same 7-Eleven store every day and steal a large Snickers candy on the way to the gym because he didn’t enough money to buy. “I was often running out of money,” he explained in an Instagram post about his pre-workout snack, recalling that “a clerk there always turned around and never caught me taking candy”.
Months later, Johnson and his family left Hawaii. Once he became a professional wrestler he began a successful acting career in the following years. This act of theft always weighed heavily on his mind.
That’s what prompted Johnson to go to the convenience store. “Had to ‘correct’ when returning home to Hawaii after all these years,” the actor wrote in an Instagram post .
The clip, which documents Johnson’s journey to find forgiveness, shows the star clearing out all the Snickers candy bars on the store’s shelves and bringing them to the register to pay.
He also generously paid others waiting to check out and took selfies with 7-Eleven shoppers.
“Thanks a lot. I appreciate you,” Johnson told the salesperson. “If someone looks like they’re stealing Snickers, give them these so they don’t steal them.”
“We can’t change the past and some of the silly things we may have done, but sometimes we should make amends when we can and give strangers a big smile. I finally got rid of this damn ‘chocolate demon’ that had been gnawing at me for decades,” the actor said.
Of course, Johnsons fans know that he is well known for his good deeds, including supporting children with cancer and helping students with disabilities, among many other charitable causes. Last summer, he even bought his mother a house.
“When I was a boy, I hated it most when my mother cried. These days, I will be happy to take away my mother’s tears. I always say, if you have a good mother, you will have a chance to become a good person,” Dwayne Johnson expressed in June 2022 in a touching social media post.
