When it comes to tackling any situation, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD ZR2 with its 35-inch tires is the one to have!

Off-road trucks have always been a popular choice for young and affluent buyers, and it’s no surprise that it’s also a lucrative market for businesses. However, Chevrolet has never offered a heavy-duty pickup truck that caters to this market, until now. The all-new Silverado HD ZR2 and ZR2 Bison have been specifically designed to tackle the great outdoors, completing Chevrolet’s trifecta of adventure-ready pickups in the mid-size, full-size, and heavy-duty segments.

The Silverado HD ZR2 and ZR2 Bison are both offered exclusively in a 2500 Crew Cab configuration, with a focus on combining off-road performance with the towing and payload capabilities that HD customers demand. Equipped with an off-road focused suspension featuring unique upper and lower control arms, new steering knuckles, and Multimatic DSSV dampers, these trucks have been lifted by approximately 1.5 inches, giving them up to 11.8 inches of ground clearance.

Further upgrades include an aluminum front skid plate and a larger steel transfer case skid plate, a rear e-locker, and 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, a first for any Chevy truck. Additionally, the Silverado HD ZR2 comes with a new off-road driving mode that optimizes performance for off-road driving.

Apart from the functional upgrades, the Silverado HD ZR2 also boasts a unique grille with a “flow-tie” emblem, black fender flares with integrated mudguards, side-mounted bed steps, and a DuraBed cargo box. The interior features Jet Black and Graystone leather with yellow contrast stitching, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 13.4-inch infotainment system.

The Silverado HD ZR2 Bison, developed in collaboration with AEV, takes things up a notch with a clearance-maximizing steel front bumper with integrated recovery points, provisions for a winch, and a steel bumper at the rear. It also has stamped steel underbody skid plates to protect the steering rack, exhaust, and transfer case. Gloss black 18-inch AEV wheels and Bison badging on the bed complete the look.

Under the hood, the Silverado HD ZR2 is equipped with a 6.6-liter V8 gas engine that produces 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, while the available 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 delivers 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque, paired with an Allison transmission and four-wheel drive. With a towing capacity of up to 18,500 lbs and a payload capacity of up to 3,397 lbs, the Silverado HD ZR2 is a capable workhorse that’s also ready for any off-road adventure.

In conclusion, the all-new Silverado HD ZR2 and ZR2 Bison are a no-brainer for those seeking an adventure-ready pickup that delivers both off-road performance and towing capability. With its unique styling, functional upgrades, and powerful engines, the Silverado HD ZR2 and ZR2 Bison complete Chevrolet’s trifecta of adventure-ready pickups and are sure to appeal to young and affluent buyers.
